Adam Clarke was a British Methodist theologian and biblical scholar born in Northern Ireland. He is famous for writing a commentary on the Bible, which took him 40 years to complete.
That commentary was published as: “The New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”.
As a theologian, Clarke reinforced the teachings of Methodist founder John Wesley. He believed that the Bible gives a complete interpretation of God and his nature and will and considered Scripture itself a miracle of God's grace that "takes away the veil of darkness and ignorance”.

I use Clark's commentary along with (Gill, Surgeon, Henry, and others) on a daily basis. And I use THIS app specifically for commentary because I can access it offline. BUT! aside from it glitching over to another chapter while scrolling, this particular app is becoming more & more incessant with annoying marketing ads which completely lock up the screen until the ad's video is completed, and then does not return to where I had previously been reading! These ads have no relevance to content!

Commentary is great, function of app is not. The Ads are more than annoying and when you attempt to subscribe to remove them, it always gives an error. It continually switches pages on you, and after an ad plays, it never takes you back to where you were. I recommend using the web version of Adam Clarke and not the app.

I'm enjoying reading the daily verses with the commentary... And the app is fairly easy to use.... April 29, 2022 addition. Many times,I cannot where the daily verse was to go back to it a little while later. Is there a way to add that memory feature to the app? Also, it switches to a different chapter too easily when you are trying to scroll down.

I would give this five stars if the scrolling weren't so finicky. Often as I'm just scrolling down to the next verse, it'll swap me over a chapter instead. At least I discovered that hitting my phone's back button takes me back to the verse I was in before. Anyway, other than that issue, I've enjoyed the free access to an interesting old commentary that I was unable to get from any library. Thanks for making Clarke available!

I like how Commentary give scripture to scripture reference and also historical back ground of culture , and some practice and some geographic location

Theologically Sound. Scholarly, yet easy enough for anyone to understand. Wish the scrolling was more stable. Sometimes when I am scrolling down it changes pages and I have to find my scripture again. Would recommend to anyone!

the content is great but the app itself is outdated and frustrating.

This app is very helpful for b oh Bible students. The explanation of each verse is of great assistance in throwing more light. Though there are Some other wonderful features in it that I've not yet used. I can recommend for everyone.
