I WANT to use this app, but it's so frustrating it's rarely worth it. When casting, it freezes on ads, or stops streaming when it reaches an ad - you have to watch the ads on your phone and then cast when it gets back to the show to get it working again. It often doesn't my place, or if I've even finished an episode - I have to manually select what episode I want to watch every time or it will just replay the last one I watched. Seems to get worse every time they update it.

This app used to work very well. Last couple of months it freezes up every time the same 5 commercials play 4 times per 30 minute episode. When commercials start you need to stop casting so it doesn't freeze up, then resume casting once they are over. Have tried uninstalling & reinstall but nothing works. Netflix & Prime work perfect so it's definitely a CBC issue. Very frustrating, garbage app, save yourself the grief...

After several years it it is still full of all the glitches despite trying all the fixes and updates recommended on line. Casting from android commercials still freeze randomly and ad volumes (when they don't freeze and lock you out) are often much louder than shows. As much as I'd like to CBC I am about ready to give up.

Ads are no longer casting! CBC Gem used to be totally ok for watching archived network tv content. I don't know exactly when this latest painful issue manifested. At ad breaks, casting will stop and in order to resume you must: - stop casting on your device - resume playback and watch ads on your device - resume casting at the end of ad break Took a long time to figure this out after numerous trouble shooting exercises. Feels to me like a ploy to force opportunity to click ads "Learn more".

update: this is the worst streaming app I've ever used and I'm not being dramatic. I fell asleep during an episode of a show, and tried to go back to the episode, forced to watch 4 ads just to OPEN the episode, then tried to skip to where I j thought I may have fallen asleep, the SAME 4 ADS ALL OVER AGAIN AND AGAIN. this app is not good for casting. if you hit the skip ahead button, it jumps you back to the start, with no option to go back to where you were. you can't skip ahead at all.

terrible app, you set it to auto play next episode and it will play about 10 seconds of the episode then skip to the next one, so it completly skips episodes, and when you are watching a series for the first time its confusing and causes spoilers!!! no way to fix it either, cause it does it when you manually select an episode too. 5.99$ for this garbage? fix your app!

I use CBC Gem to watch tv shows. There are A LOT of commercials. I cast the shows from my phone to my Samsung Smart tv. At least once a day it freezes and i have to unplug my Google Chromecast and wait for the reboot. Once it reboots, there are a batch of commercials, then i click on my show and watch another batch of commercials. If i didn't enjoy the shows, that i can't watch anywhere else, i would dump this app. I do not recommend. Btw Chromecast works perfectly with other apps.

I love the content on the Gem app, but the frequent crashes make it frustrating to use. It's incredibly difficult to return to where you left off, and to make matters worse, you have to sit through six ads before realizing you're in the wrong spot. This really affects the overall experience.
