For the love of god, don't pay for this app. It used to be good, but by now it's become a complete mess. Sometimes it sets updated files back, deleting your progress, no trace of what you have written anywhere. The cloud feature has become horrendous, forcing you to copy and paste your files, instead of overwriting them, so you end up with a bunch of copies. And then there is the lag to open files bigger than 8k words. At 20k+ I have to wait a couple of minutes, even. Loved it a year ago, shame.

Almost lost hours of writing as the UI of the laptop (windows) version of the app doesn't even have a simple undo button, nevermind any previous versions to restore. Had to search for an older version in my google drive to retrieve my work. Nothing on FAQ to help, chat bot was clueless. Tables added scale horribly, very rigid, limited text wrapping and doesn't save correctly. All the text format compatability is not worth the poor practicality. Found myself wondering why I paid for this.

At first I'd like to say that this app is a really good piece of software to fit my needs which is mostly taking notes in markdown, more or less formatted. But I have some wishes for future releases: 1. An option to toggle the automated/inserted title in pdf-exports (generated from the filename). If you have a seperate title (e.g. # titlesomewhat) you get two titles in the pdf. 2. An option to insert/embed pictures would be great. 3. To toggle checklist items via tapping would be also great!

Avoid at all costs. I used Jotterpad intermittently throughout 2022 – 23 with a paid . I ran into some sync issues that were causing me to lose work and a stopped using it. I disabled payment renewal, sent an message to confirm that this had been done correctly (no response), deleted my and uninstalled the app. In spite of this, I was billed an ongoing annual fee in December 2023. I have attempted to engage with Two App Studio via multiple emails and chat, all with no response.

absolutely love this app. Its simple, it's very neat, you can change the fronts and sizes of the text. There's a dark mode and you can connect it to your google meaning your writings are easily accessible for you (which was very relieving for me when switching to another phone.) It saves on it's own, so you will not lose any progress even when accidentally closing the app (had this problem with most other apps) so yeah, recommend it to everyone. Definitely the best writing app.

I used to love this app to hell and back. I ended up purchasing the creative add on as well, despite my policy to never spend money on in 'game' purchases. EDIT: yes, it is disappointing that the cloud feature switched to subscription instead of the add on we could buy back in the day, and seeing the changes was a little alarming. But thankfully, after a bit of testing, it turns out that all the other main features are still (hopefully) there, so the switch doesn't hinder application at all.

Big turn down for me is that there are no outlines, you can't layout world-building, individual chapters, scene beats, character sheets, or anything even remotely like that. Their version of an outline is the same as Word, glorified index menu. Your work is not saved unless you it to the cloud (paid function) so if your app crashes or something goes wrong everything is gone. It does have nice templates and it is an app so there's that.

I was introduced to it by a friend when I saw it on her WhatsApp status. It is a clean, no-distraction writing app with Markdown, cloud sync, and screenplay formatting. It’s solid for writers, but most of the good stuff is locked behind a paywall. If you need a simple, smooth writing tool, it’s worth checking out.
